APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEES

The following Committees were established:  

Ø       Strategic Planning Committee – Executive Committee

Ø       Membership Committee – VE3ILA / VE3RNH

Ø       Repeater Committee – VE3BFM, VE3MKX, VE3TUJ, VE3RRD

Ø       Digital Committee – VE3GIH, VE3QT, VA3DG

Ø       Tower Committee – VE3TWP, VE3MPG

Ø       Auxiliary Power Committee – (see below)  

Ø       Fundraising Committee – VA3ODR, VE3ILA, VA3QT  

With respect to the auxiliary power question, the prioritization decision was a combination of 
the .85 repeater, CANWARN link radio and the packet radio equipment.

The President will be in contact with committee members to establish the chairpersons.  

Meeting

A general discussion took place on the number of meetings required.  It was noted that the Association is not a club, and the bulk of the work was practical in nature and accomplished at the committee level.  The consensus was three meetings in order to maintain a sense of momentum: one in April/early May, one in September, and an annual meeting in November to elect Directors and officers in preparation for year-end fiscal and government reports.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS  

·         VE3SHX extended an invitation to the BARC Christmas Dinner on the evening of 1 Dec.  Reservations to VE3PKT.

·         VE3ODR advised that, as a member of the IARU Region 2 HF Bandplan Committee he was looking for assistance developing a recommendation for the 17 and 30-metre bands .  He invited comments from all Amateurs.

·         VE3MKX advised that the SGB ARC was starting a Basic course in the very near future

·         VA3DG requested that a membership application form be put on the website.

MOTION TO ADJOURN

The business of the evening being complete, it was moved by VE3GIH, seconded by VE3OXX, that the meeting be adjourned.
Decision:  Carried.
 
VE3ODR thanked everyone for coming out and adjourned at 2035 hours.
Secretarial Note:  The cost of the room rental was $25.00, $27.00 was collected “In the hat”, balance to the Treasurer.
